Stowey Holsteins was established in 1948 by the late Metford Jeanes O.B.E and is
now continued by Directors J & M Hill and
Mrs D.J.Jeanes as M.A.Jeanes (Farms) Ltd.
The Stowey Holsteins Herd now has 400 milking cows and is based on one site at
Peadon Farm, near Nether Stowey in Somerset.
Devon-born Chris Ford heads the herd management team and together with Nigel
Pearce, Krysztof Kuswik and Clive Groves (relief) have achieved nearly 11,000
litres per cow up to
January 2006.
Now that the herd numbers are at full strength the target of 4 million litres
per year for the Stowey Holsteins is within reach.
